Service for Douglas Allison, 76, of Hillsboro, will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday, June 27, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend David Bristow will officiate. Burial will be in Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be John Barnes, Jody Allison, Joe Don Lewis, Ronnie Rodecker, Jeff Sulak and Robert Monroe. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Brown, Junior Graig, Mark Barnes and Sonny Moore. Douglas Allison passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in Fort Worth. He was born May 15, 1938 in Cleburne to Jasper Lee and Cue Belle Stacy Allison. He married Mary Channon on June 10, 1960 in Covington. Mr. Allison was a farmer and a member of Covington United Methodist Church. Douglas Allison is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Allison of Hillsboro; daughter Carrie Whitman and husband Mitch of Covington; two sons Buddy Allison and wife Linda of Hillsboro and Gene Allison and wife Laura of Arlington; seven grandchildren Patrick Whitman, Matthew Whitman, Logan Allison, Zachary Allison, Cathryn Allison, Madelyn Allison and Abigail Brown and three sisters Jane West, Joni Monroe and Debra Fryar. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons Curtis Allison and David Allison; two brothers Gordon and Joe Allison and one sister Mary Allison.
