Service for Elder Robert D. Rider, 82, of Keene will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 8, 2013 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Elder John Moyer, Dr. Bill Kilgore and Pastor Jonathan Armstrong will officiate. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Saturday, at the funeral home. Elder Robert D. Rider passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in Ft. Worth. He was born Oct. 17, 1930 in Terrell to Dewey and Eva Laffoon Rider. He married Hattie Lee King on June 7, 1953 in Keene. Elder Rider was a minister for 41 years, serving in Texas, Oklahoma and Oregon. He was the president of the Oklahoma Conference of Seventh-day Adventists for more than 18 years. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Hattie Lee Rider of Keene; two daughters, Lorrie L. Reagan and husband Russell of Edmond, Okla. and Marcia L. Dyche and husband James A. of Keene; grandchildren, Lindsay B. Bryant and husband Andrew, Elizabeth Brown, Leslie Dawn Smith, Kevin Dyche, Joshua Dyche, Benjamin Dyche and their families along with several other relatives and many friends.
