He was a talented harmonica, guitar and saw player as well as vocalist. One of his childrens' fondest memories was waking up to his guitar playing on Sabbath mornings. He was family oriented in every sense of the phrase. He was often found packing the children up for spur of the moment trips to visit family in other areas of the country. Family get togethers brought him much joy in his adult life. Chey was a giver, often known for putting the needs of others above his own needs. He was a talented craftsman, especially in welding and woodworking. He could make or build anything from toys to furniture.
