Service for Frances “LaLa” Robinson Goff, 95, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Chaplain Larry Schneider will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Day, Mike Waits, Wayne Findley, Alex Waits, John Harper, and James W. Smith. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, at the funeral home. Frances went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 8, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born in Van Zandt County to Osie H. Robinson and Ida Mae Bearden Robinson on July 15, 1920. She was a graduate of Alvarado High School. Frances married George L. Goff on June 1, 1940 in Cleburne. While George was serving in the Philippines during WWII, Frances moved to Dallas and became one of the original IBM computer programmers for the Civil Service. Frances retired after 26 years of employment as a supervisor for Walls Manufacturing. One of her most memorable accomplishments while employed at Walls, was her involvement in manufacturing the "Red Overalls" worn by John Wayne and cast of the movie Hell Fighters. After retirement, she and George enjoyed traveling in their motor home, fishing, and spending quality time with family and friends. Frances was a charter member of the Buel Baptist Church. She was also a Past Worthy Matron and 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her passions in life were being a loving wife to her husband of 64 years, a devoted mother to her daughter, a dedicated grandmother to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George L. Goff, her parents, and three siblings. Survivors include her daughter, Georgene and husband James W. Smith. Grandchildren: Stacey and husband Mike Waits, Stefanie and husband Wayne Findley, Mark and wife Jacquie Day. Great-grandchildren: Amberly and husband John Harper, Alex Waits, Allison Waits, and Kyle Mears; additionally, her bonus grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Norma "Bill" Gardner, John Paul Robinson, George Wesley Robinson, and her numerous nieces and nephews. Our family wishes to acknowledge the loving and outstanding care provided by everyone at the Whitney Country Club Retirement Community (CCRC) and her dedicated caregivers with Mission Hospice.
