Service for Frances Smith, 89, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Danny Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Frances Smith passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Cleburne. She was born December 14, 1924 in Alvarado to Clarence and Dora Harwell Vassar. She married William Jesse Smith on May 31, 1941 in Cleburne and he preceded her in death in 1996. Mrs. Smith worked as a registered nurse at Cleburne Heath Care until retiring. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her son, Sammy Smith and wife Phyllis; daughter, Sheila Hendrix and husband Lonny; sister, Thelma Hill; 15 grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Billy Smith in 2009 and Jackie Watson in 2011; daughter, Nell Bradford in 2013; and seven brothers and sisters.
