Funeral services for Geraldine Stephens, 93, homemaker, of Keller (formerly of Cleburne), will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 10, 2014 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Funeral Chapel. Bro. Charles Kilgore will officiate. Burial will follow in the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Stephens passed away in Keller on Saturday, February 8, 2014. She was born to George Walter and Martha Elizabeth James Reeves on June 15, 1920 in Johnson County. She married Merle Morton Stephens on August 28, 1937 in Cleburne. Geraldine was the picture of the “Virtuous Woman of Proverbs 31”. She was dedicated to her family and church. She developed and ran the children’s church as a volunteer with First Baptist Church, Euless, serving for a number of years there. She was a busy lady; talented in all crafts and arts, especially painting, crocheting and sewing. Geraldine’s sweet spirit and gentle nature will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Danny Stephens; son in law, Sammy Baker; grandson, Gary Edwin Baker; and 12 siblings. Survivors include her children, Don Stephens and wife, Joan, Nelda Jean Baker, Donna Owens and husband, Jimmy, Michael Stephens and wife, Kay, Martha Phillips and husband, Dwight “Phil”; daughter in law, Bertie Stephens; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Georgia Anderson; numerous generations of nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
