Service for Glenn Vowell, 79, of Covington will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, Oct. 3, 2011 in the Bethel Temple Assembly of God Church. The Reverend Larry Vowell and Pastor Mike Mizell will officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael Rhoten, Jeff Jay, Scott Wyse, Dr. Cecil Huneycutt, Pete Jenkins and Danny Vowell. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Vowell passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 in Covington. He was born Sept. 24, 1932 in Weatherford, to William Burks and Glenna Belle Higgins Vowell. He married LaVera Mullins on Mar. 1, 1952 in Ardmore, Okla. Mr. Vowell was a health inspector for the city of Cleburne and retired from the city with 17 years of service. He was also a member of the Bethel Temple Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, LaVera Vowell of Covington; son, Jerry Vowell and wife Marla of Red River, N.M.; daughters, Teresa Rhoten and husband Joe of Covington and Leisa Jenkins of Covington; brothers, Larry Vowell and wife Brenda of Allen and Tommy Vowell and wife Margie of Joshua; grandchildren, Michael Rhoten, Freedom Jay and Matthew Jenkins; great grandchildren, Levi, JaNice, Kailey, JoeDee, Easton and Kaleb.
