Graveside services for Grotas Odell “MeMaw” Deatherage McDonald, 98, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Rosehill Cemetery. Jim Graham will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. McDonald passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013. She was born Dec. 9, 1914, in Maypearl to P.C. and Lottie Hopkins Deatherage. She married John Patrick McDonald and he preceded her in death in January 2001. Mrs. McDonald was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook who was known for her fried chicken. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, being outdoors, and crossword puzzles. Grotas had a wonderful sense of humor, and even in her last days kept everyone laughing. She was also known for her favorite saying “having a happy heart gives you a long life.” Her wonderful sense of humor and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her daughter, Sue Hundley; grandchildren, Craig Hundley and wife, Cherie, Doug Hundley and wife, Tina, Kim Thompson and husband, Davy, Chris Hundley and Joni Hundley; great-grandchildren, Nicole Castillo, Corey Hundley, Derek Thompson, Colby Thompson, Brody Hundley, Lauren Hundley and Elyse Hundley; three great-great-grandchildren, Bree Hundley, Peyton Thompson and Isabella Castillo; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends; and her beloved dogs, Kristy and Chico. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Gene Hundley; and siblings, Onas Deatherage, Ohel Glen, and Lydia Blissett.
