H. ROY CARLOCK, JR. Services for H. Roy Carlock, Jr., 84, of Joshua, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Rev. Alvin Robinson will officiate with Rev. Eddy Carrell assisting. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery. Chris Bullard, Chad Bullard, Rusty Robinson, Jason Robinson, Justin Carlock, and Joshua Carlock will serve as pallbearers along with Kolton Carlock and Hagan Roy Shipman serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Community Hospice of Texas Hospice House, 301 Medpark Circle, Burleson, Texas 76028 or to the charity of the giver's choice. Mr. Carlock passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 in Fort Worth. He was born to Herbert Roy Sr. and Mary Velma Pannell Carlock on May 15, 1927 in Fort Worth. Roy married Henrietta P. Barger on July 27, 1946 in Cleburne. He was of the Baptist faith. Roy served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked over 35 years as a truck driver for AMPI. Roy was the ultimate family man, always putting his family first in his life. He was known as a simple man, who loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Roy enjoyed playing and watching various sports. Roy loved life, quoted saying "I lived a good life and have a good family" in his last days even. He will be remembered as a happy man with witty sayings and a great sense of humor. His big heart and giving spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Hillary Carlock; sister, Modean Gossett; brother, Weldon Carlock; and infant brother, Eugene Carlock. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Henrietta Carlock; children and their spouses, Linda and Larry Rogers, Dianne and Kenneth Bullard, Sylvia and Alvin Robinson, Michael and Kim Carlock, Johnny and Shawnda Carlock, and Tammy and Larry Shipman; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one more on the way; 1 great great grandchild and one more on the way; siblings and their spouses, Oscar and Charlene Carlock; Charles and Jimmie Carlock; and Betty Hudson; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
