Graveside service for Helen Abbott, 95, of Covington will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Blum Cemetery. Pastor Sam Houston will officiate. Open visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Helen Abbott passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 Ft. Worth. She was born April 16, 1921 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Ernest H.and Natalie Junker Hulcy. She married A.G. Roderick in 1940 in Henrietta, TX and he preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1961. She then married Vernon E. Abbott and he preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2005. Mrs. Abbott worked as a legal secretary until retiring. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Helen was a member of Woodrow Baptist Church in Covington. Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Ann Abbott of Covington; daughter-in-law, Nancy Pryor of Godley; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many additional loving family and friends who will miss her dearly. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Faye Louise Obermier; brother, Louis Hulcy; and a sister, Mabel Tammen.
