Private memorial services for Helen Laurita, 71, of Joshua will be conducted at a later date. Helen Laurita passed away Wed. March 27, 2013 in Joshua. She was born Sept. 13, 1941 in New York City, NY to Stanley A. and Bernice Poklekowska Waller. She married Robert Laurita on Dec. 10, 1971 in Amityville, NY, and they moved to Joshua 17 years ago. Mrs. Laurita was a caregiver of hospice patients in her home. She also was a retired Environmental Services Supervisor for a nursing facility. She loved to cook and plant flowers and trees. She adored her grandchildren and spoiled them rotten. Helen will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her children, Andrew Laurita and wife Kim and Lisa Laurita and Jimmy Evans; three granddaughters, Crystal Buckner and husband Bryan and Tiffany and Brieanna Laurita; great grandson, Mason Robert Buckner; beloved dog, Bear; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert Laurita on Feb. 21, 2011.
