A Graveside service for Howard Perkins, 71, of Crowley, will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 3, 2011 in the Godley Cemetery. Reverend Kenneth Coleman will officiate. Howard Perkins passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in Fort Worth. He was born July 8, 1940 in Decatur to John B and Farrar Phillips Perkins. He married Rose Marie Perry on April 8, 1978 in Cleburne. Mr. Perkins retired after 39 years of service for TU Electric. He also served in the US Marine Reserve. Some of his hobbies included computers and fishing. Howard enjoyed watching car racing and the Dallas Cowboys. He could fix anything and loved being challenged. He was a private, sweet man who loved animals. Howard was a wonderful husband and family oriented . Howard Perkins is survived by his wife Rose; brother, "Red" Milton Perkins and wife Shirlee, niece Susan Robertshaw; nephew Derril Perkins; step-sister Deanna Swink and family and a host of other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his 2 dogs Quigley and Toby.
