Graveside service for Jack A. Ballard Sr., 88, of Burleson will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 24, 2014 in Sand Flat Cemetery. Brother George Hanson will officiate. Jack A. Ballard Sr. passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 in Burleson. He was born September 25, 1926 in Hill County, Texas to Norman Nelley and Cornelius Everline Bryant Ballard. Mr. Ballard was a backhoe operator, retiring from Johnson County Precinct 2. He loved telling stories, enjoyed carpentry and was an excellent mechanic. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include his children, Elijah Andrew Jackson Ballard Jr., Doyle Eugene Ballard and wife Stephanie, and Raymond Guy Smith Jr.; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sun Ballard; and sisters, Frances Ballard and Ruby Meek.
