Service for James Choate, 68, of Grandview will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Carl Freeto will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, at the funeral home. Mr. Choate passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 in Cleburne. He was born Nov. 3, 1943 in Cleburne to Loyd And Ernestine King Choate. He married Nita Eberhart on July 3, 1964 in Alvarado. Mr. Choate was a heavy equipment mechanic with 37 years service for Chaparral Steel Company, now Gerdau. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Grandview. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Nita Choate of Grandview; son, Jeffrey Choate and wife Jennifer of Grandview; daughter, Julie Dowdy of Cleburne; five grandchildren, Jarrett, Jacquelyn, James, Brianna and Aryanna; brother, Truman Choate of Blum; sister, Glenda Barger and husband Gary of Cleburne; and several nieces and nephews.
