Graveside service for Janeta Irene York, 90, of Blum, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 in the Rosehill Cemetery. Chaplain Eddy Carrell will officiate. Visitation will be from 12-1:30 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home, prior to the service. Janeta Irene York passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 in Whitney. She was born July 20, 1924 in Nemo to Omer and Vina Roberts Mullen. She married Curtis E. York in Glen Rose and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1966. Mrs. York worked in construction before retirement. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her sons, Curtis W. York and wife Joyce of Blum and Donald E. York and wife Margaret of Cleburne; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Elwin Mullen, and sister, Lede Maude Harkins. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and residents at Park Plaza Nursing Home in Whitney for all their loving care and kindness.
