Services for John Mack Clay, 63, of Cleburne, Texas, will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at First Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Willie Stevenson will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kevin Penigar, Tremaine Clay, Jeremy Morgan, Jerry Lee, Xavier Warren and Kerry Randle. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Brown and Dale Lee. John Clay passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Texas Health Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. He was born the youngest son to Robert Lee (Sr.) and Bobbie Neal (Randle) Clay on July 13, 1956 in Cleburne. He graduated from Cleburne High School in 1974. He was a Supervisor in the Car Department at Union Pacific Railroad. John was a member of First Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board for many years. He enjoyed reading the Bible, playing golf and watching the Dallas Cowboys play football. John Clay was a full and faithful servant for the Lord God Almighty. If he knew you, you were family. If he didn’t know you, he would introduce you to God first, then you were family. He enjoyed spreading the word of God and a gentle smile. Survivors include his sons, Justin Clay and Brandon Clay; grandchildren, Jordan Clay and Braeden Clay; sisters, Sandra Morgan, Hope Ratliff and husband James, and Monica Aguilar-Whitike and husband Teto; brother, Robert Clay, Jr. and his wife Wanda; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who loved him and will miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents.
