Funeral services for Josie Culpepper Daniel, 85, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel with family friend and minister, Marc West officiating. There will be an open visitation at the funeral home on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Private burial will be held at Greenacres Memorial Park at a later time. Josie passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012 in Cleburne. She was born July 30, 1926 in Hopkins County, Texas to Thomas Jefferson and Minerva Elizabeth Bryant Culpepper. She married Merle Ray Daniel on February 8, 1944 in Lubbock, Texas. Josie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked as an executive secretary at Wayland Baptist College and Plainview Hospital. She volunteered for several organizations, including SOS. Josie was a Christian lady, with a big heart; knowing no stranger. Granny loved children but especially her grandchildren. Josie enjoyed walking in the park and visiting the local Dairy Queen as often as possible. She was an avid Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks fan. Her love for life and giving spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Josie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Charles and Joe Culpepper. Survivors include her children, Dennis Daniel, Jana McClendon and her husband, Garry, and Sheila Daniel and her husband, Don Cook; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister in law, Audine Culpepper; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
