Graveside service for J.T. Dempsey, 86, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Greenacres Memorial Park. Pastor Jerry Reed will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home. J. T. Dempsey passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 in Fort Worth. He was born August 9, 1928 in Cleburne to William Fletcher and Ella Mae Pruitt Dempsey. He married Lois Cleon Gardner on May 15, 1965 in Fairy, Texas. Mr. Dempsey served in the National Guard. He worked as a truck driver for the railroad until retirement. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Cleon Dempsey; daughter, Karen Leonhardt and husband Keith; son, Milton Dempsey and wife Rhonda; grandchildren, Magen Dempsey, Tanner Dempsey, Kyle Leonhardt, and Kolton Leonhardt; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Florence Temple, Geneva Whaley, Edith Neel, and Juanita Dempsey; and brothers, Cecil Dempsey and Fain Dempsey.
