Graveside service with military honors for Larry "Critter Getter" McNatt, 63, of Whitney will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 in the Rosehill Cemetery. His nephew, the Reverend Randy Burch will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday at the funeral home. Mr. McNatt passed away Tuesday Nov. 27, 2012 at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 28, 1949 in Cleburne to James O. and Helen Baze McNatt. He grew up in the Lone Willow Community. He later moved to Rio Vista and spent much of his life there, before moving to Whitney five years ago to live near the lake where he loved to fish. Larry was a great fisherman and was known by his nickname "Critter Getter" to many of his friends. He married Carolyne Earley on May 3, 2007 in Cleburne. Larry proudly served his country as a United States Marine in the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart and Cross of Gallantry. Survivors include his wife, Carolyne McNatt of Whitney; mother, Helen McNatt of Rio Vista; son, Coty Dewayne McNatt and wife Jennifer; three step daughters, Diedre Crawford, Racheal Barnum and Robin King; four grandchildren, Jeremy McNatt, Dylan McNatt, Ethan McNatt and Donna McNatt; twelve step grandchildren; sister, Diane Burch and husband Tommy; two nieces; one nephew; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Hackler McNatt and his father, James O. McNatt in 1997.
