Service for Lonnie Fred Grayson, 79, of Fort Worth, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 24, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Brother John Hoosier will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home. Mr. Grayson passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 in Fort Worth. He was born January 18, 1935 in Burleson to Floyd L. and Nina Lee Beavers Grayson. He married Wanda Loyd on June 11, 1995 in Azle. Mr. Grayson served in the United States Army. He worked as a Fire Marshall for Johnson County for 23 years, ten years with the Cleburne Police Department and ten years with the Johnson County Sherriffs Department before retirement. He loved bluegrass music. Mr. Grayson also served as a Deacon at Castle Hills Baptist Church in Azle and worked as the director of the Mission House at the church. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Grayson; daughter, Shelby Grayson Hughes and husband Les; sons, Jesse Grayson, Kenneth Lee Grayson and Lonnie Floyd Grayson; step children, Tara Segura, Renny Davis, Jackie Acker and Donnie Mitchell; grandchildren, Ronnie Grayson, Cody Grayson , Charlie Terry and seven more; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carol Vandervoort Grayson; and a brother, Robert Grayson.
