Service for Lucy Poland, 88, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April13, 2013 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Larry Chambless will officiate. Pallbearers will be Bo Votaw, Ben Smith, Todd Brucker, Darryle Taylor, Kirk Carrell and Roy Tipton. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Holibaugh, Roger Tipton, Rick Johnson, Rick Doty and Dennis Padgett. Burial will be in Bono Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday at the funeral home. Lucy Poland passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Cleburne. She was born Oct. 29, 1924 in Aubrey to Henry D. and Mary Clemmie Jones Moses. She married Billy James Poland on Dec. 24, 1943 in Dallas. Lucy was a dental assistant and later with Dave Sowell for a number of years. She was also an amazing homemaker who loved to entertain grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, sewing for her granddaughters and baking. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Godley Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Lucy attended Lebanon Baptist Church. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Doyle Moses; sisters, Jewel Adams, Avis Lewis, and Marie Tipton; and a granddaughter, Wende Walker-Smith. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Billy Poland; daughters, Barbara Walker and Kathi Taylor, both of Cleburne; granddaughters, Kelle Brucker and husband Todd of Leavenworth, Kan., Tracy Holcomb of Grapevine and Misty Votaw and husband Bo of West; beloved great grandchildren, Garrett and Meagan Brucker, Bayley and Delayna Votaw, Ryan, Madi and Olivia Holcomb and Masen Smith; sister-in-law, Ann Parker of Grandview, numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
