Service for Marcella Victoria Oliver McDowell, 80, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 in the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The Reverend David Baldwin will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Douglas Booker, Roderick Austin, Stephen Oliver, Thomas Oliver, Jr., Donald Earl and Kenny Crandall. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 Friday, at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home. Marcella Victoria Oliver McDowell passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 in Cleburne. She was born Sept. 4, 1936 in Morgan to Henry and Ruthie Louise Pollard Oliver. She married Johnnie McDowell and he preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1973. Mrs. McDowell was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, and a dear friend to many. She previously worked at Walls Industries for many years before retiring and was a member of Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Johnson and husband Earthly of Cleburne; three grandsons, Elmo Hamilton, III, Justin Hamilton and Anthony Hamilton; three great grandchildren; brother, Thomas Oliver of Clifton; sisters, Nora Burton of Cleburne, Anna Booker of Crawford and Evelyn Wright of Clifton; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Elizabeth; a brother, and two sisters.
