Marcia Strealy Obituary

Marcia Ann Strealy, 76, of Cleburne passed away peacefully Saturday, June 22, 2013, in a Fort Worth hospital with her family by her side. SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Bono Cemetery in Bono. Pallbearers: Kevin Kimberlin, Craig Kimberlin, Keith Parks, Kyle Parks, Jimmy Lester and Mike Braun. Honorary pallbearers: Connor Lester and Mike Parks. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Marcia was born December 10, 1936, in Cleburne to A.D. Kimberlin and Lucille (Patton) Kimberlin. She attended the Cleburne schools and graduated from Cleburne High School in 1955. She married the love of her life, Donald Lyle Strealy, on August 9, 1957. They operated the Westerner, the Pancake House and the BBQ Place restaurants in Fort Worth in the late 1950s through the late '60s. Marcia was a devoted, full-time mother to her three daughters, and together with her grandchildren, they were the love of her life. She enjoyed cooking and tending to her plants and flowers. Marcia was a longtime member of Henderson Street Baptist Church in Cleburne, and she was very proud to call herself a lifelong Democrat. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Oscar D. Wilburn; and brothers, Wayne Kimberlin and Jay Wilburn. SURVIVORS: Marcia is survived by her husband of 55 years, Don; daughters, Sherryl Braun and husband, Mike, of Fort Worth; Susan Martin of Dallas; and Sheila Lester and husband, Jimmy, of Farmers Branch; granddaughters, Shaye Martin, Lauren Braun and Lauren Lester; grandson, Connor Lester; brother, Larry Bob Kimberlin and wife, Peggie, of Flower Mound; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kimberlin of Fort Worth; uncle, Frank Kimberlin Jr. and wife, Lea, of Cleburne; cousin, Kay Parks and husband, Mike, of Fort Worth; nephews, Craig Kimberlin and wife, Ginny, of Fort Worth; Kevin Kimberlin and wife, Diane, of Grand Prairie; and Karl Kimberlin of Dallas; niece, Kelly Ann Gamill and husband, Stephan, of Fort Worth; and other dear family members and friends. The family wishes to thank Drs. Andrew Anyadiegwu, Sandhya Bejjanki and Thanh Nguyen and the staff of Texas Oncology Cleburne for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 3301 W. Freeway, Ft. Worth, TX 76107.
