Services for Marie Owens, 96, longtime resident of Cleburne, will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday , February 25, 2014 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Reverend John Glover will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenacres Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Owens passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 in Cleburne. She was born to William (Will) and Mae Haney McCauley on September 23, 1917 in Millford, Texas. She worked as a caregiver to children for many years. She married Finis Harris Owens, Sr. on September 28, 1935 in Godley, Texas. Marie was a member of Field Street Baptist Church since the mid 1990s. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Marie is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Dave McCauley, Evelyn Smith, Laura Mae Pelham, and Loretta Korb. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Nancy Sue Herrin, Harris, Jr. and Doris Owens, Bobby and Joyce Owens, and Betty and Mike Duckworth; 9 grandchildren, David, Debbie, Susan, Carol, Kim, Kevin, Robby, Barry, and Michelle; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Haney and Billie Chappell; sister in law, Opal Seals; numerous generations of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
