Service for Melburn “Boots” Odell Hall, 93, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. Dale Lucas and the Reverend Dave Lucas will officiate. Burial will be in Rio Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Hall, Roger Hall, Keith Hall, Jason Gant, Brad Gant, Montana Hall and Hunter Hall. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Melburn Odell “Boots” Hall passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, in Cleburne. He was born in the Derden Community to Henry Lee and Cora Ann Summers Hall. He married Margie Lee Fowler on Dec. 23, 1940, in Grandview. Mr. Hall retired from Santa Fe Railroad with 20 years service. He loved hunting and fishing, farming, welding and the outdoors, but most of all his family. He was known as a great “PawPaw” to his grandchildren. Mr. Hall was a member of the Nolands River Masonic Lodge No. 453 in Rio Vista. He was also a past Deacon and member of First Baptist Church of Rio Vista. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his sons, Ronnie Hall and wife, Lou Ann, of DeSota, and Mark Hall and wife, Cathy, of Rowlett; daughter, Krista Matthews and husband, Johnny, of Cleburne; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Hall of Rio Vista; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mable Novella Pearson of Cleburne and Ruby Barnett of Rio Vista. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Margie Hall in July 2010; son, Larry Hall in August 2012; twin grandsons in November 1970; sisters, Opal Hall, Alta Thurston and Bertha Lee Hancock; and brothers, Erwin, Overton and Jimmy Hall.
