Private memorial services for Melody Jean Schatz, 45, homemaker of Cleburne, will be conducted at a later date. Ms. Schatz passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 in Cleburne. She was born to Gene and Marilyn Joy Ultsch Schatz on April 1, 1968 in Seattle, WA. Melody was of Christian faith. Her greatest joy was being a mother. She was a phenomenal artist with an independent spirit. She was known for her love of horses and her contagious laugh. Her loving nature and sense of humor will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Melody was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Joy Smedley; father, Gene Schatz; and sister, Janice Lewis. Survivors include her daughter, Cheyanna Schatz-Brown; sisters, Loralee LaBeur and Judy Schaefer; 3 nieces, Nickollette Gerokostopoulos, Cassie Lewis, and MacKenzie Schaefer; step father, Tom Smedley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
