Service for Moye G. Featherston, 89, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 19, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Charles E. Payne will officiate. Burial will be at 2:15 P.M., Thursday, in DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. Pallbearers will be James Ellis, Joseph Odom, Robert Coward, Jeremy Corley, Phillip Ellis and Christopher Odom. Honorary pallbearers will be James Leifeste, Michael Ellis, Eddie Leifeste, Dennis Coward, and Carl Odom. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Moye G. Featherston passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Cleburne. He was born June 16, 1924 in Gatesville to Dennis and Ellie Necessary Featherston. He married Florence Angelene Lovell on May 6, 1946 in Gatesville. Mr. Featherston served in the United States Army in Normandy and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He worked as a salesman for Foremost Dairy until retirement and was a Minister for more than 50 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Florence Featherston of Cleburne; six children, Claudette Coward and husband Dennis of Cleburne, Arlene Ducker and husband Clarence of Arlington, Kathy Odom and husband Carl, Sarah Featherston, Jewel Evans and husband Craig, and Manford Featherston and wife Brandy, all of Cleburne; eight grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Rita Dale Massingill, Wanda Massingill and husband Ray, and Mary Beth Truitt and husband Charles. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Ellis; two grandchildren, Eddie Ellis and Cherish Ducker; brothers, Willis, J.D. and Raybern Featherston, and sister, Reva Rasco.
