Service for Opal Marie Cornett, 89, of Alvarado will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. Terry Williams and Dr. Jimmie Eaves will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Her grandchildren will be pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home. God called her home on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 in Alvarado. She was born April 7, 1924 in Blackey, KY to Willie G. and Bettie Whitaker Webb. She married John Clarence Cornett, Sr. on June 16, 1941 in Jeffersonville, IN. and he preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 1996. Mrs. Cornett was a homemaker and a member of Hillside Baptist Church in Alvarado. Survivors include her son, John C. Cornett, Jr. and wife Wanda of Granbury; four daughters, Patricia Rose Eaves and husband Jimmie of Spring, Cynthia Ann Tiwater and husband David of Grandview, Janice E. Leonard of Alvarado and Barbara J. Sikes and husband Eddie of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and twelve brothers and sisters. Our family chain is broken, nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again with your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
