Phyllis Daugherty Mathis, 71, of Joshua passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in Joshua. She was born May 15, 1943 in Terrell, Texas to Chester and Alene Hector Daugherty. Phyllis worked as a waitress and was a retired health caregiver. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Her sweet spirit and a deep love for her family and friends will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her children, Tim Mathis and wife Priscilla, Sherrie Sullivan, Ken Mathis and wife Kim, and Leslie Mathis, all of Joshua; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Jo Beth Robertson and husband Jimmy, Melissa Fite and husband Ricky, all of Sulphur Springs, and Mark Daugherty of Cooper; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Tamara Casebier; and brothers, Alan and Tommy Daugherty. No services are scheduled at this time.
