Graveside service for Richard Runnels, 82, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10: 00 A.M., Monday, October 5, 2020 in Baker-Lain Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home. Richard Runnels passed away October 1, 2020 in Cleburne. He was born March 14, 1938 in Bosque County, Texas to Floyd Raymond and Lillian Kathleen (Cope) Runnels. Richard married Joyce L. Forsythe on February 6, 2006 in Cleburne. He was part of the last class to attend the Goat Neck School before it closed, and graduated from Cleburne High School. Richard served his country as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army during Vietnam before being honorably discharged. He was an account auditor for the federal government before retiring. Richard was a strong individualist. Richard was a great neighbor and believed strongly in help others. Richard is survived by his wife Joyce Runnels; nephew Jeffery Runnels and other extended family and loving friends. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and brother Paul Runnels. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
