Memorial service for Shirley Sims Dyess, 63, of Alvarado will be conducted at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, May 27, 2012 in the New Hope Baptist Church in Venus. Shirley Sims Dyess passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in Ft. Worth. She was born Oct. 15, 1948 in Sherman, Texas to Wesley and Edna Sims. Shirley worked as a restaurant cook and waitress for years. She was a member of Alvarado Baptist Temple. She enjoyed puzzle books and had a wonderful sense of humor. Her giving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her children, Michele Smith and husband Timothy and Eddie Marquette and wife Sherilyn, grandchildren, Wyatt, Tiffany, Whitney and Taylor; many siblings, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Edna Sims; grandson, Austin and four brothers. Service New Hope Baptist Church Venus, Texas Sunday, May 27, 2012 4:00 P.M.
