Sybil Wingo Obituary

Sybil Winnie (Osborne) Wingo went to be with the Lord on January 4, 2020 at the age of 96 in Denton, Texas. She was born the youngest of the four to Charles and Winnie Osborne on January 8, 1923, in Bosque County, Texas. In high school she played basketball and was the top of her class as valedictorian. She worked for the railroad during WWII and was introduced to her husband Robert W. Wingo, who she married in 1946. They raised four children and ran a business together in California, returning to Cleburne, Texas after retirement in 1985. Sybil has always been a devoted mother and grandmother to all and was the true matriarch of her family. Her strength, dedication, beauty and excellent cooking has supported generations. Survivors include her son, Charlie Huckabee; daughter, Peggy Roy; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Sybil Wingo was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Wingo in 2013; her parents; sons, Buck Allen Huckabee, and Robert Wayne Wingo; brothers, Charles Luke Osborne, J.C. Osborne, and Carl Osborne. Service for Sybil will be conducted at 2:00 P .M., Saturday, January 11, 2020 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel in Cleburne, Texas. Mr. Davis Young will officiate. Burial will be at 3:30 P.M. in the Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow, Texas.
