Services for Sylvia Leiske, 89, of Grand Prairie, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in the Keene Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the funeral home. Mrs. Leiske passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 in Grand Prairie. She was born to Alfons and Ellen Nelson Lockert on November 26, 1922 in Big Timber, Montana. She was a member of the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church. Sylvia married LeRoy Leiske on June 1, 1943 in Bemidji, Minnesota. Sylvia and LeRoy were a dynamite couple, engaging in a variety of activities together, including entertaining. Sylvia had a passion for decorating and music, using these talents to compliment both LeRoy's professional life and enhance their home life. She was a wonderful role model for her daughters. Sylvia was known as a classy lady with a generous heart. Her dedication to her family and love of laughter will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Pam Carter, Red Lockert, and Lloyd Lockert. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, LeRoy Leiske; daughters, Nanci Slease and husband, C.A., and Sandra Underhill and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Brett Leiske, Alexandria "Alex" Hopps and husband, Gary, and Nick Underhill and wife, Briana; great grandchildren, Haley, Kal-El, Ava, and Ashton; sister, Pearle Westerberg; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
