Services for Thelma Nettie Wilkerson, 86, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home on Monday. Mrs. Wilkerson passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014 in Fort Worth. She was born to John Clifton and Nettie Valentine Sevier Gray on February 6, 1928 in Peoria, Texas. She married Wofford Earnest Wilkerson on February 5, 1949 in Cleburne. Thelma was of the Baptist faith and a hard worker for various local companies. She was known as a sweet but outspoken lady who was devoted to her family and an avid Cowboys fan. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, entertaining and cooking in her home as well as going out for a good steak and fellowship. Thelma loved to travel, especially in the fall when the leaves were changing. Thelma’s independent spirit and loving nature will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Frances Sessums, Lucille Gray, Clara Keenum, Johnny Gray, Elvie Gray, and Jay Gray. Survivors include her children, Doys Hughes and husband, Gary, Robert Wilkerson and wife, Soon, Gary Wilkerson and wife, Vicki, Elmer Wilkerson and wife, Melanie, and John Wilkerson; 13 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; brother, Rudolph Gray; sister, Elsie Frederick; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
