Tom Lavon "Tommy" Smith

Service for Tom Lavon “Tommy” Smith, 93, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 in Henderson Street Baptist Church. Dr. Richard Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Forsythe, Dale Hannah, Ronny Tribble, Rodney Tribble, Roby Stringer and Lindsey Upshaw. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home. Tommy Smith passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017 in Ft. Worth. She was born Feb. 4, 1924 in Cleburne to Thomas and Coreen Daniel Snell. She married John Henry Smith on Oct. 7, 1942 in Cleburne and he preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 2011, after 68 years of marriage. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and worked at Friou Floral for over 20 years. She was a member of Henderson St. Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Lackey and husband Gary and Jan Swanson and husband Mark, all of Cleburne; grandsons, Lance Lackey and wife Amy of Austin, Lyle Lackey and wife Katie of Jayton and Spencer Swanson of Dallas; great-grandchildren Elizabeth Lackey of Jayton, Boone Lackey of Austin, Tucker Lackey of Austin, Margaret Lackey of Austin, MaryLyle Lackey of Jayton and Violet Lackey of Jayton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John Henry Smith on January 01, 2011; infant daughter Sharon Smith in 1943 and two brothers Wendell Snell and T.J. Snell.
