Service for Vernon Carrell, 89, of Joshua will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, Aug. 5, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Chaplain Eddy Carrell will officiate. Burial will be in Fall Creek Cemetery in Hood County. Pallbearers will be Wayne Hadley, Richard King, Larry Henderson, Charles Henderson, Joe Wallace, Mike Morris, and Jerald Cameron. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home. Vernon Carrell passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Crowley. He was born Oct. 18, 1926 in Granbury to William Edgar and Minnie Estes White Carrell. Mr. Carrell served in the United States Army during WWII and was a cattleman. He was of the Baptist faith. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his sister, Eudora Cameron of Lindale; sisters-in-law, Hazel Carrell of Cleburne and Ruby Carrell of Rio Vista; nephews, Charles Henderson, Larry Henderson, Jerald Cameron, Frank Carrell, Jr. and Eddy Carrell; nieces, Wanda Morris, Dora Lee McCoy, Minnie Wallace and Francine Langford; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, J.D. Carrell, Frank Carrell, and Tincey Carrell; and a sister, Lovetia Henderson. The family would like to give a special thanks to his nephew and wife, Larry and Ramona Henderson for all their loving care.
