Services for Vernon Clifford Cliff Keisling, 78, of Venus will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Rev. Charles E. Payne and the Rev. Bill Keisling will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cliff Keisling passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, in Venus. He was born Oct. 28, 1934, in Dove Creek, Colorado to William Thomas and Lucy L. Borror Keisling. He married Shirley Tammy Bartlett on May 18, 1971, in Winterhaven, Calif. Mr. Keisling served his country proudly for 20 years, during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam era, in the United States Navy. He moved to Texas in 1973 and worked as a diesel mechanic, truck driver and later a security guard. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing old country music and fishing. He was an avid wrestling fan and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sherman. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his children, Bill Keisling, Shannon R. Ray, Roy G. Rounsavill, Robbie L. Kurth, Claude Keefover and Gina Keefover; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Tucker; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Tammy Keisling on July 25, 2013; infant daughter, Barbara Lee Keisling; one grandchild; and siblings, Tom, Bill and Lear Keisling.
