Services for Vivian Beth Cannon, 84, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012, in the College Heights Baptist Church. The Rev. Mark Ely will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rex Pritchard, Larry Cole, Bill Cox, Robert Morris, Horace Gilliam and Tommy Butler. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Cannon passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012, in Cleburne. She was born July 20, 1927, in the Centerville Community near Venus to Dewey Earl and Frances Nelle Mackey Smith. She married Tom Cannon on Dec. 30, 1946, in Cleburne. Mrs. Cannon attended Harris Nursing College and was a homemaker and an active member of College Heights Baptist Church for years, where she served in the church preschool department for 43 years. Beth and her husband, Tommy, are owners of Cleburne Electric Company since 1949, where she worked in the office when needed. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Tom Cannon; son, Doug Cannon and wife, Shelly, all of Cleburne; daughter, Kim Pointer and husband, Terry, of Hewitt; grandsons, Corey Cannon, Joshua Pointer and wife, "Snow" Xue, Kyle Pointer and Farley Flowers; one sister, Billie Jo Hudgins; sisters-in-law, Joan Smith and Gracie Cannon; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, J.D. Smith and Buddie Smith; brother-in-law, Sam Hudgins; and two grandsons, Cullen Cannon and Jason Flowers. Her family would like to express their gratitude for the many prayers, cards, food and well wishes over these past two years.
