Cora Brietz

On November 20, 2019 Cora Nell Brietz left us to enter the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, reuniting with her beloved husband Bill to live an eternity of love, joy, and happiness. Cora Nell was born in Corsicana to loving parents Frank and Aileen Stanley April 15, 1926. She graduated from Corsicana High School in 1943. Cora Nell and Bill (Putz) Brietz married in April of 1948. The young couple soon added a son, Kyle and a daughter Kim, and later a grandson Dillon. Cora Nell loved her family deeply. Her love for her children was complete and unconditional. Cora Nell was a fixture at the First Baptist Church, serving her Lord tirelessly in any role required. Cora Nell had a servant’s heart and a gentle spirit. Cora Nell’s kind nature allowed her to make friends easily. Many of these dear friendships have lasted a lifetime. Cora Nell later enjoyed a long career in jewelry sales, working for many years with the Rosen family at Daiches’ Jewelry and later at Jones Jewelry. Cora Nell and Bill loved to travel and had the good fortune to visit most of North America and tour the British Isles, Europe, The Holy Land, and cruise the Caribbean and Mediterranean Seas with many of their friends. Loving adventure, Cora Nell and one friend traveled together touring Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, India, and Nepal. Although Cora Nell faced physical challenges later in life her spirit never faltered and love for her friends and her Lord remained strong. Cora Nell lived a long, full life. Those of us who love her will miss Cora Nell greatly, but we will celebrate the life she lived and the joy she brought to we who loved her. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Friday, November 22, 2019 at Corley Funeral Home with funeral services immediately following with Bro. Larry Talbert officiating. Private burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
