Mittie 'Louise' Haggard, 96, died peacefully with her daughter, Robbie Derden, by her side at Epic Nursing Facility in Corsicana, Texas on Thursday, May 28, 2020. Louise was born on March 2, 1924 in Silver City, Texas to Leroy Seth and Georgia Katherine (Casey) Chapman. She attended most of her formative school years in Frost, Texas and finished at the high school in Barry, Texas. She met and married James Hunter Haggard on April 14, 1945. They lived several places before settling in Blooming Grove, Texas where they were very active in the community. She was a long-standing member Of Central Baptist Church in Blooming Grove, Texas and the Order of the Eastern Star. She spent many mornings having coffee with her sisters, while their husbands did the same at the Blooming Grove Cafe. She raised her three children, Royce, Rex and Robbie here as well. Over the years she was a hairstylist, florist, seamstress and master of the chocolate pie. She continued these crafts long after retirement, passing her skills onto her family. She was affectionately known to most of her family as 'Aunt Pat' Louise is survived by her sons, Royce Haggard, Rex Haggard, both of Dallas, Texas and her daughter and husband, Robbie and Gary Derden of Blooming Grove, Texas. Six grandchildren and their families, Casey Haggard and wife Holly, Stephanie Haggard Thompson and husband Jake, Kelly Haggard Amerson, Jeremy Shane Derden, Chris Derden and wife Brooke, Cody Derden and fiancé Brandi. Thirteen great-grandchildren and one on the way and one great great-grandson, as well as numerous other relatives and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Hunter Haggard, mother and father, Leroy and Georgia Chapman, two sisters, Katherine (Aunt Kat) Northern and husband Ersell, Florene (Aunt Flo) Dugan and husband Stanford, three brothers, Carl Chapman, Doug Chapman and his wife Billie and Wes Chapman and wife Mildred. The visitation will be held Monday, June 1, 2020 at Central Baptist Church in Blooming Grove, Texas from 6-8pm. The funeral will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Central Baptist Church at 11am with graveside services immediately after at the Dresden Cemetery, Dresden, Texas beside her loving husband, J.H. A family lunch will be held at the Lions Dens, a part of Central Baptist Church, following the graveside services.
