Manuela Navarrete

Manuela Navarrete, 65, of McCamey, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020, at the McCamey Convalescent Center. Manuela was born on June 17, 1954, in Mexico. She had lived in McCamey for 20 years. Manuela loved cooking and cleaning, but her favorite thing was shopping. She had a passion for buying shoes. Manuela loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips to Ojinaga, Mexico. Manuela loved her job cooking at the Burrito Place in McCamey. She was a member of the Apostolic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Amado and Celia Navarrete; her son, Adolfo Navarrete; and her husband, Aurelio Hernandez. Manuela is survived by her children, Arlene Magallanes and her husband Steven of McCamey, Jose Navarrete and his wife Amanda of San Antonio, Mayra Magallanes of McCamey, and Yamil Murguia and her husband Joe of McCamey; three brothers, Roberto Navarrete of McCamey, Amado Navarrete of Midland, and Monico Navarrete of Ojinaga, Mexico; one sister, Juana Mendoza and her husband Juan Carlos of Midland; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Viewing will be on Sunday and Monday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in McCamey. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Juan Carlos Mendoza officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey.
