Sonia Lane

Sonia Lane, 65, of Crane, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at the Continued Care Hospital in Odessa. Sonia was born on July 27, 1953, in Rankin, Texas to Raymond and Paula Arista. She lived in McCamey until she was 18, then spent the rest of her life in Crane. Sonia enjoyed reading, cooking, and sewing. She was the happiest when she was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was a member of the Faith In Christ Church in Crane. Sonia was preceded in death by her mother, Paula Hernandez Arista. She is survived by her loving family, son Douglas Lane and daughter Paula Lane, both of Crane; her father and stepmother, Raymond (Shorty) and Sheila Arista of Crane; brother, Adolfo Arista of Crane; sister, Alma Arista Pina of Odessa; stepbrother, Cipriano Vargas of Crane; two stepsisters, Sylvia Martinez of Big Lake, and Sarah Smith of Mississippi; six grandchildren, Tiana, Mack, Caleb, Jackson, Layla, and Braxton; and a host of nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at the Faith In Christ Church with Reverend Ellis Lane officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
