Services for Mr. Richard Lewis Scott, 77, of Fruitvale, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Roundflat Pentecostal Church with Bro. Homer Morgan and Bro. Ronnie Wheeler officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline. Interment will be in Creagleville Cemetery. Mr. Scott passed away June 15, 2020, in Fruitvale. He was born January 25, 1943, in Edgewood (Small Community) to William Lewis & Lela Bell Pipes Scott. Mr. Scott served in the US Army in the Vietnam War. He lived most of his life in Van Zandt County where he was a member of Roundflat Pentecostal Church and worked as a forklift operator. Richard is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Robert Pipes. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Scott of Fruitvale; two sisters, Vesta Bynum of Grand Saline and Shirley Whitworth of Edgewood; three brothers-in-law, Ronnie Wheeler Sr. and wife Edith of Wills Point, Jerry Wheeler and wife Kembelin of Wills Point and Paul Wheeler and wife Delana of Grand Saline; two sisters-in-law, Johnnie Pipes and husband Carlos of Fruitvale and Mary Sparks and husband Lynn of Quinlan; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Billy Clark, Nathan Whitworth, Jason Whitworth, Jerry Wheeler, Paul Wheeler and Michael Beam. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2020.
