Crystal Petty Obituary

Born on March 21st, 1980, Crystal Michelle Petty began her journey through life. Crystal was one of five children of Eugene and Jeannie Petty, younger sister Samantha, and three older brothers, Edgar Whatley, Lonnie Whatley Jr., and Johnathan Petty. As well as, three nieces and one nephew. Jasmine Petty, Harmony Petty, Destiny Nash, and Nicholas Nash who loved their aunt KiKi dearly. There are also countless friends who love her greatly. Crystal started out her education at J. Wills Jones Elementary, where she participated in gymnastics, played the piano, and dance, ending at Memorial High School where she was in choir and expressed her love for music. From there, she went on to start at Houston Community College and ended at Ashford University, where she obtained her Associates of Applied Science and Bachelor’s in Psychology. From there, she quickly realized her love for teaching and pursued a teaching certificate. As you can see, Crystal was a very giving and kind person, who wanted to help the world one child at a time. On the morning of March 10th 2019, this beautiful Angel was taken home to God. Crystal made a lasting impression on all of those she met thru her acts of kindness and generosity, her willingness to aid her family and friends. Her love for her sister Samantha was boundless as she helped care for her for a big part of her life. Crystal loved animals and loved her two dogs, Jax and Harley and always called them her “children.” This beautiful soul will be missed by her family, friends, and her beloved Jax and Harley. “A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter better place.”
