Elizabeth Carol Prince Obituary

Elizabeth Carol Prince, age 81, passed away on October 16, 2016 in the Woodlands Texas, surrounded by her children and loved ones. She was preceded in death less than a year ago by her devoted husband of 33 years, Al Prince. Liz was a cherished, loving and devoted mother to a blended family including her son Dennis Abbott and wife Mary Jo, daughter Belinda Abbott-Shaw and husband Philip, daughter Judy Serafini and husband James, Cheryl Prince and Bill Prince. She was also beloved Nonny to 10 wonderful grandchildren: Travis Abbott, Stacy(Abbott) & Josh Lane, Laurie Abbott, Tyler & Michelle Abbott, Cameron Shaw, Garrison & Rachel Shaw, Jamie Serafini & Anthony, Jeremy & Jessica Serafini, Jordan Serafini, Michelle Clouse; and 9 precious great grandchildren: Audrey & Kyle Lane ~ Jackson, Quinn & Sawyer Abbott ~ Logan Hawk & Izzy Piquette ~ Remy & Jax Serafini. She was born on Christmas Eve December 24, 1934 and grew up in Fort Worth Texas, the youngest daughter of Zola and Arthur Dixon. A graduate of Poly Technic High School; she became a secretary for an insurance company, married, moved to Kentucky as a military wife and finally settled in Houston with her young family. Here she continued to work and raise three children almost singlehandedly! Her last job as an administrative assistant in the oil and gas industry led her to her future husband and knight in shining armor, Al. And the rest is “dancing off into the sunset history”. Together they enjoyed a much deserved and wonderfully blessed life of travel, dancing and most importantly a large loving family! Holidays were her favorite especially Christmas, gardening & quilting her hobbies, but grandchildren were her pride and fulfilling joy. She was hard working, hard headed and hard to top; a wife and mother to reckon with and boastfully claim as ours! She will be missed terribly, but remembered each day for her strength, her love and above all her example! Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Proverbs 31:25-30 ESV A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 10:00 in the Robb Chapel of The Woodlands United Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Sorensen will officiate. All are welcome to attend this celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations can be made to: TWUMC/Local Missions, Attn: Angel Tree/Christmas Miracles, 2200 Lake Woodlands Dr., The Woodlands, Tx 77380 www.thewoodlandsumc.org/missions
