Eric Edward Lara, Sr. passed away on July 5, 2019. He was born June 10, 1965, in Houston, to Thomas Lara, Sr. and Lydia V. Lara. Eric attended South Houston High School and earned many certificates for automotive repair. He was an exceptional mechanic, and could fix anything. He loved cars, helping others, spending time with his family, and was very proud of his children's successes. He is survived by his children Joseph E. Lara, Ericka A. Rivera, Matthew C. Lara, and Eric E. Lara, Jr. Eric had four grandchildren Jude, Ben, Victoria, and Julien. He is also survived by his sister Gaynell L. Henderson, Thomas Lara, Jr, and Quintin L. Lara. He is preceded in death by his parents, baby daughter Kayla, and his brother Roderick Lara. His service will be held on July 11, 2019 from 1pm until 4pm at Integrity Funeral Care located in Houston. Interment of his remains will be at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena, Texas.
