George David “Dave” Ladd III Dave Ladd of Houston, TX passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017. He succumbed to his hard fought battle with cancer and was surrounded by his family at the time of his death. Dave was born on December 17, 1955 to George Ladd, Jr. and Pauline Ladd of Bellaire. He attended Bellaire High School and upon graduating in 1974 he attended Stephen F. Austin University. It was there he met his loving wife Sharon (George) Ladd and together they raised four children in Bellaire. Aside from a loving husband, father and “Poppy”, he was a passionate guitarist and vocalist, talented cook, and a local sports enthusiast. He was a member and past president of the Bellaire Optimist Club, and dedicated much of his adult life to the youth sports programs of Bellaire. Dave was preceded in death by his father George and is survived by his mother Pauline; siblings, Linda, Diane, and Paul; Uncle Doug and Aunt Mickey, children Jason, Jennifer, John and Georgeanna; grandchildren, Michelle, Michael and Jack as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters in-law. A celebration of Dave's life will be held Saturday November 18, 2017 from 3-5 pm at Brisket BBQ, 5208 Bissonnet St. Bellaire, TX 77401. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
