James Ray Obituary

James Earl Ray, 67, passed away on December 12, 2017. He leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Sandy Ray, son, James Ray his wife Melissa Ray, daughter Jennifer (Ray) Songster and husband Josh Songster. His 6 grandkids which he adored and referred to him as Grumpy, Bailey, Evan and Makinzie Ray and Meredith, Melody and Daniel Songster. Additional family members Brenda Lang, Linda Montez, his brother, 3 sisters and 2 brother in laws along with a numerous other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mom, dad, a brother, 2 sisters and 3 nephews.He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He drove his trucks and enjoyed his family. His greatest joy were his grandkids and his face would light up whenever they were around. Even in his final days his sense of humor did not fade while teasing the nurses when they did a needle prick. He loved car shows and working on his trucks and just generally working or fixing something. Most who knew could attest to his willingness to serve and help those around who needed it. He understood the value of hard work and will be missed immensely by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Disabled Veterans Association (DAV) which can be found at the website www.dav.org
