Louis Miller Collins, Sr. 78, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2014 in Tomball, Texas after losing his long battle with Cancer. Louis was born on July 10, 1935 in Austin, Texas. After graduating from William B. Travis High School in Austin, Louis entered the US Navy and spent the next six years serving his country. He began his professional career as an Engineer for US Motors in Lakewood, California and later became an Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Specialist, retiring from his career with NOCS in La Porte, Texas. He will be remembered as the guy on the dance floor that awed everyone into stopping to watch him and his partner swing into the jitterbug or smoothly perform the waltz. His love of dancing, singing and music was contagious. He was someone who always had a smile and a wonderful story to give away. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Miller S. and Marie Collins, his sister, Ella Claudine Collins, his brother-in-law, Arthur Perry and his son, Louis Miller, Jr. Survivors include one son, Robert Collins of Austin,Texas, two sisters, Loretta Perry of Manor, Texas and Janet Collins-Sievers of Cypress, Texas and his brother-in-law, Edward Sievers of Cypress, Texas, three grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends. Graveside services with Military Honors and internment will be on January 29, 2014 @ 12:45PM Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, Texas Please join the family for a celebration of Louis' life immediately following the services: 20606 Terlizzi Way Houston, Texas 77070
