She lived in Huntsville during the Depression and moved to Texas City during World War II. She was baptized at age 8. Myrna graduated high school from Texas City High School in 1948. She moved from Texas City to Houston in 1962. During her years in Houston she was a member of Park Place Baptist Church, a charter member of Sagemont church, Kingspoint Baptist Church, and Freeway Manor Baptist Church. She spent many years planning reunions for her high school graduating class. Most of her working career, she was a secretary. She even worked at Sagemont Church in the early days when there were only two office workers. Since 1987 she was part of the family business, Quality Pump Parts, Inc., spending countless hours doing whatever it took to make it a success. She retired from the family business in 2004 at the age of 74. For the last two years, she has lived with her granddaughter Abigail Newton and her family. She went into the hospital Feb. 27 in respiratory distress. She was in the ICU most of the time until her release to home hospice care on April 17th. She celebrated her 85th birthday surrounded by her loved ones on April 21st and went to meet Jesus the following night. She had a vibrant and feisty personality and did not hesitate to shower those she cared about with love and affection. She was very excited to get to spend time with her three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Clear Creek Community Church located at 999 FM 270 (Egret Bay Blvd) in League City, in room 211, on Saturday, May 2nd from 10-11am.
